The AfSIL invites you to join their 9th annual conference which will be held virtually on 30th October, 2020. The line-up of the speakers and program for the day are below.

Afronomicslaw.org, the leading blog on international economic law focused on Africa and the Global South, is looking to hire an Editorial Assistant to provide support to Editors on a regular basis in connection with the blog, the African Sovereign Debt Justice Network Project, (AfSDJN); and other associated projects of the organization.

This contract Web Designer position is responsible for designing, writing, modifying, testing, debugging, documenting, and implementing a new blog website. In particular, the web designer will make sure the new look gives prominence to the African Sovereign Debt Justice Network and its activities.

Afronomicslaw.org, the leading blog on international economic law and justice issues in the Global South seeks to fill the position of a Coordinator for its African Debt Justice Initiative (AfSDJN).

This colloquium will examine Africa’s response to the pandemic, in particular, those relating to international economic law. This colloquium fills the gap left by the absence of our biennial conference in 2021 and will instead hold virtually in July 2021.

Given the monumental task and constraints faced, SNGs have demonstrated resourcefulness, sometimes testing the boundaries of what is constitutionally acceptable nationally to get results.

Article 9, the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) recognizes the enormous contribution that the local and indigenous communities and farmers of all regions of the world, particularly those in the centers of origin and crop diversity, have made and will continue to make to the conservation and development of plant genetic resources which constitute the basis of food and agriculture production throughout the world. This webinar will focus on Farmers’ Rights as established in the ITPGRFA and presents a unique opportunity to share and exchange knowledge on the subject.

This webinar will examine the links between Farmers’ Rights (as established in the ITPGRFA) and related international treaties alongside the right to food and gender perspectives on Farmers’ Rights.
