Afronomicslaw.org is delighted to welcome Dr. Chris Nshimbi as a Contributing Editor. Dr. Chris Nshimbi is the Director and Department of Science and Technology/National Research Foundation Research Fellow in GovInn at the University of Pretoria. He joined GovInn in 2012. Chris works in all of GovInn’s four axes with a particular focus on Trans-boundary Governance. His current research focuses on migration, borders, regional integration, the informal economy and water resources management. Afronomicslaw is delighted to have him as a contributing editor because he is undoubtedly the leading scholar studying and publishing the leading scholarly and policy analysis in the area of cross-border trade and the informal economy as they intersect with migration, gender, and water resources management. In addition to teaching in the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria, he also sits in on regional and international technical working groups on migration, labour, trade and water. His opinion pieces are occasionally published on THE CONVERSATIONOpenDemocracy and other media outlets. Before joining GovInn, he lectured at the Zambian Open University and was Associate Consultant/Lecturer with the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) in Lusaka, Zambia. He also consulted with local, business and government departments and international organisations. Dr. Nshimbi’s inaugural blog post on Afronomicslaw.org on informality in the context of the AfCFTA was published on March 6, 2019: /2019/03/06/accommodating-informality-in-the-african-continental-free-trade-area-some-basics-and-challenges/ Welcome aboard and looking forward to many more posts from you Chris!
