The AfIELN is a regional network under the auspices of the Society of International Economic Law (SIEL). AfIELN is an organisation aimed at academics, industry practitioners, policy experts and officials with interest in the field of International Economic Law (IEL) in Africa.

The African Union, established as a unique Pan African continental body, is charged with spearheading Africa’s rapid integration and sustainable development by promoting unity, solidarity, cohesion and cooperation among the peoples of Africa and African States as well as developing a New Partnership Worldwide. Its Headquarters is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In seeking to attain this objective, the African Union intends to build its capacity to deliver, among others, the implementation of its organizational structure. In this pursuit, the African Union Commission invites applicants who are citizens of Member States for its Internship Program.

Over the years, individual and institutional donors have supported the African Round, making it accessible to students who otherwise would not afford to participate. This year, we hope as much financial support as possible can be offered to ensure that all the students who have registered are able to participate.

Applications are invited from suitable postdoctoral researchers (or near PhD completion Candidates) to work on a project with Dr Gregory Messenger on sustainable development and trade at the University of Bristol.
